Insulation Specialties was founded in 2004 in Watertown, South Dakota, with a single mission: to solve the real-world job site challenges that spray foam contractors face every single day.
For decades, open-cell foam trimming was an inefficient, frustrating bottleneck. Off-the-shelf tools simply were not built to handle the demands of heavy, daily foam trimming. Recognizing the urgent need for a purpose-built solution, founder Lane Hogstad leveraged over 20 years of hands-on spray foam and saw-building expertise to design an open-cell trimming saw.

Based in Watertown, South Dakota, Lane Hogstad brings more than two decades of direct spray foam spraying and custom saw manufacturing to Insulation Specialties.
